While you might not be used to thinking of fighting games in terms of plot, the idea of the KoF tournament is used quite effectively as a setting. A group of individuals finds themselves duking it out in a martial arts competition, but there's enough going on in the background to make them think that they might be involved in a bigger conspiracy. Each character has their own ending based on this storyline, so you might want to play through the entire game multiple times to give yourself an ample opportunity to experience the whole plot.
